I’ve had this layout done for about a week now but I just don’t have any motivation to write about anything. Especially today, I am so tired I feel like I am running in slow motion. Anyway, I wanted to create a theme that wasn’t based around the season and that better portrayed what this site is about – a collection of thoughts and hobbies. I may be tweaking it here or there as time goes on to keep it “fresh” – and the header’s for the posts need to be fixed some time.
A couple of weeks ago I invested in a new Macro lens for my camera! Wooohoo. It cost more than my actual camera but it was worth it. I thought – very long and hard – about buying a new Nikon D300 but I keep going back and forth. I really want to start doing more with photography and even go as far as selling my work and I thought that a better camera would push me into actually doing it – and allow me to shoot better images at higher speeds.
I am shooting a wedding in August so I still need to buy a Flash, more batteries (maybe an extended battery clip) and a few other accessories. As of right now I have two auto-focus lenses that I plan on using, but I am afraid that I am missing a key lens. I am soo nervous about this whole thing that I am probably thinking I need more than I actually do, but I don’t want to screw up the shots! That would not be good!
I did a bunch of research and every thread I have come across says that my camera should not be used for weddings. Every single one recommended the D300. They also all recommend the same two lenses. Both are over $1,000 so I don’t know what I am going to do at this point. Maybe buy a “generic” lens? I dunno. Anyway, I think I am going to get the camera once B&H is back open from Passover.
