Your hair does not curl. Please stop trying.

I just spent an hour trying to curl my hair. I was unsuccessful. The only curl came from flipping my hair upside down and adding product to it…

And, it just looks messy as well.

Oh well. It’s the thought that counts right?

Anyway, I have been coding several sites lately where the site owners want to use a specific font on all of the pages. As most of you designers may know, this is hard to accomplish in IE since it does not support font embed for CSS3.

Well, I found this great online tool that converts TTF to EOT!

For those of you who are unaware, EOT is the only font type that is supported when embedding fonts in the stylesheet for IE.

And, the online tool does all of the work for you (and you don’t have to install anything)! It even gives you the code you need to use!

I want to make sure this is really clear for everyone, so here are some further instructions.

1. Convert the .tff you want to use on the website using this tool.
    
2. Once the font is converted, save it into your website folder (along with the .ttf if it isn’t already).
    
3. Copy the code it gives you. I edited it a bit so it goes in the styesheet and not the head of your website.

   @font-face {font-family: jenkins; src: url(“JENKINSV.eot“) /* EOT file for IE */}
   @font-face {font-family: jenkins; src: url(“JENKINSV.TTF“) /* TTF file for CSS3 browsers */}

4. The information that is in bold is unique to my font. You will have your own name. For the font family, pick a name that you will remember and use what you wish.
    

5. When it comes time to use the font in a tag, it will look something like this:
   .post-title {font-family:jenkins,Georgia,”Times New Roman”,Times, serif;}

   or

   .post-title {font:10pt jenkins,Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif;}

6. Walla! Once you upload all of the fonts and the stylesheet, it will now be working!

This year it was against the Cubs. Our biggest rivals.

First off, it was perfect weather. It was 80 degrees! And sunny.

Maybe a little too sunny, since I did get burned, but it was still a gorgeous day.

We had good seats too.

The score of the game also stayed close the whole time. The Brewers ended up winning, saving the winning hit for the eight inning.

The score is hard to read, but this is after the Brewers went back into the lead. Here is the close up:

For those of you who aren’t familiar with reading baseball scores, it is 6 to 5, Brewers.

After the game is when the drama began. I didn’t know the people we were with (besides one and a half people). I say a half because one of the guys went to the same high school as me but he was a grade below me.

Anyway, his girlfriend decided to punch a fan of the other team because this girl was giving her shit the whole day and being, well, a bitch… and then her boyfriend almost got arrested for trying to stop that girl’s boyfriend from throwing a punch…

This guy who so drunk that he kept falling over every time he tried to do anything, so I don’t think his punch would have been much of anything if he did throw one…

I wasn’t there to see this. But what I did see was her going crazy at the car because her boyfriend didn’t stick up for her… even though he was the one that almost got arrested.

I don’t know. It was too much drama for me, so the details don’t matter to me.

The point was.

It was a good game!

Since I have failed at blogging in the past several months, I am going to try something new. I bought an Android powered phone a few weeks ago, which allows me to use WordPress on my phone.

So, what I am going to try and do is post from my phone. The entries may be short, but I am thinking they will include a photo or two of that day. Of that moment maybe.

We will see how this goes!

What I did like, though, was the pictures we got while we went on a small hike.

If you remember, a few months ago we did this same hike when it was green out. I will post some “before” pictures along the way to help you remember.

We didn’t hike in this area, but where we started is where this path ends near. Look how gorgeous the yellows, blues and greens are in the Summer! If we had snow shoes or skis, this is suppose to be a good hike in the winter. Maybe next year!

Here is where we entered. There isn’t a lot of snow, so it wasn’t too hard to walk on. Most of it was packed down from previous hikers.

A little down the path, further into the wood, is where the waterfall is located. In order to reach the waterfall, you have to go down a very steep set of rock stairs. In the winter, they are heavily snow covered and very slippery.

We basically slid all the way down. But the effort was worth it!

As a refresher, here is what it looked like in the Summer.

It is so peaceful down here. In the Winter, it is a whole new place.

I love the texture that the frozen waterfall created.

While we were down there, we met a man who was taking photos for his wife’s photography class. I am pretty sure he just wanted to play with my camera, but he asked if we wanted our picture taken. So, here is a rare photo of me on my website.

Anyway, it was a lot of fun and I am glad that we ventured out to get these photos.

Why is that?

Because THE GREEN BAY PACKERS WON THE SUPER BOWL!!! Oh yeah! I am a huge Packer fan. I get a little carried away…

I even named one of my vehicles after Rodgers (the quarterback).

Obsessive.

I am also happy because it finally snowed a decent amount last week. We got somewhere between fifteen and twenty inches.

Here are some pictures.

First things first, Matt had to shovel the driveway. Ernie thought he wanted to help, but since the snow was taller than him, and he is a big pansy, he came back in rather quickly.

Actually, before this, I had to actually find him in the backyard. He thought he would follow Maggie out, and quickly realized that the snow was even taller than he realized and he was stuck.

It was actually quite funny.

After the driveway was done, and Matt shoveled away the four feet of snow that the snow plow left at the end of the driveway three times, we went for a drive. We have four wheel drive, and a pretty tall vehicle, so it was fun. Most of these roads were not plowed yet.

The trees were beautiful!!

This is one of the roads that was not plowed. Someone made a tunnel through the snow, but that is actually a 7 foot plus wall ON the road. It was taller than my vehicle, but so much fun to drive through.

These were some of the vehicles that were stranded and left in the middle of the road from the night before. There were several of them alongside this road.

There was so much snow and nowhere to put it, so it had to be taken away by trucks. There are still plenty of city roads that this needs to be done to yet.

I started a new job six weeks ago. It has been great, and I love it. I don’t want to say too many specifics about it since it is a known fact that you should not blog about your job… not that I have anything bad to say… but if I did, it wouldn’t be on here I suppose.

I will tell you that I love working in the city (even though there are some terrible drivers on the roads), having several meetings a week, how there are more than seven people working at the company (there are roughly 700), and how I have to dress up every day to go to work. It is a whole new experience from what I am use to.

I feel like I have a purpose where I am at now. Not that I didn’t enjoy where I was before, but I felt like there was nowhere to grow. I was stuck at home 3 out of the 5 days with little interaction with clients or co-workers, and it was starting to get tiresome. I was bored too often and tired from having nothing to do.

Now, there is life in my work and already I am experiencing opportunities that I would never had the chance to with my old job.

Last week I went out with my co-workers to dinner and a theatre showing. It was right in the heart of the city, and besides the blistering winds, it was a wonderful time. I love walking through the city at night, with all of the lights and sounds. And the smells of all the different restaurants and different cultures. I really wish I would have taken my camera to share the experience.

The play itself was a bit strange. It was nothing of what I imagined and there should have been a warning when purchasing the tickets about the sexual content. I feel bad for the old couples who left after the first half because of the content. But it was still a fun experience. I am already looking forward to the next outing.

Other than my new job, there isn’t a whole lot going on. We haven’t done any big projects around the house for a while, although we have a few ideas bouncing around…

We were thinking about doing the countertops in the kitchen next, but now I am thinking we should start on the basement. The second is more expensive, but it wouldn’t be a rush job. No one sees the basement and the only reason we are down there now is to do laundry, so if it takes a long time to finish it isn’t a big deal.

It would be nice having the extra room downstairs. We would probably move the things in the loft to the basement, and then move the office to the loft. Then we would have the current office/spare bedroom solely the spare bedroom.

I have been also working on several WordPress themes. None of them are finished, but I have many started. I hope to finish them soon and get some free ones posted on here. I know, I have been promising some for a while now!

Before I started my new job, I opened up an Etsy shop. I planned on putting some pre-mades for sale but have not gotten around to finishing them. I am still taking clients though, so if you are interested, feel free to stop by and place an order!

Those weather combinations do not make for good camping.

Anyway, this was also our first camp outing with our dogs, so we just went somewhere thirty minutes away.

The best part about this park is that it has a lot of nice walking trails. And even better is this…

A waterfall! It is in a valley so the temperatures are nice and cool, and it is quite peaceful. Magical really.

I could spend all day down there!

Even with there being people around almost always, it is still a peaceful place.

The dogs did pretty well climbing down into the valley. The stairs were pretty steep, basically just random flat boulders placed to create a path down the hill side. The first time we ever hiked it I forgot to bring tennis shoes so I was stuck sliding around in my flip-flops. Not fun!

The woods also open up to a walking trail alongside the stream. Not a lot of people chose to walk the path so it is a really nice, and quiet hike with plenty of areas to explore.

Surprisingly, the trail later opens up to this gorgeous field full of butterflies and other small critters before going back into the woods. How gorgeous can one trail be?!

After some adventures at the dog beach (Ernie got beat up by a girl pup) and grabbing some ice cream, we headed back to our campsite. For being the last site available, it was actually really nice. I was worried it would be the worst one. But it was nestled in-between some trees and actually pretty private.

It was a good weekend. Hopefully we will be able to have more camping adventures soon!
